Vittorio Del Bono Venezze
I was born in Florence in 1962 and I have been working as a Sommelier here in Italy for ten years. My background is in Wine Tasting, as well as Food & Wine Journalism, and I have got an extensive knowledge on Wines coming from all regions of Italy, thus including Chianti and Tuscany.
Thanks to my experience, I am in contact with a large network of local Wineries, from the worldwide known key players to the small family-owned Farms that are usually away from standard Tourism Routes in Italy, the ones that I call "Boutique Wineries".
My first approach to the World of Wine was the participation to the Professional Sommelier Course in Florence in 2001, where I gained a holistic knowledge of this unique Product.
Ever since, I felt that my aim is to spread the Wine Culture among Wine Lovers coming from all over the world, and this is how the Florence Wine Academy was born, in order to host all those that appreciate Italian Wine and are willing to learn more about it.
Italy is a fantastic Country to Visit, with one of a kind Traditions, Historical Places to See and unique Products. It is a pleasure for me to play my part in helping visitors enjoying their Trip to Italy by getting to know more about its Culture.
I'm a local english-speaker and I was born in Florence.
After a degree in History , I got in love with wine and the gorgeous tuscan countryside; I'm also a certificated Sommelier.
I have been working in a winery for 10 years, where I was responsible for the tours in the cellar and for the promotion of the wines. I would be glad to escort you to the most and beautiful spots of Tuscany.
I was born in Hannover, Germany, in 1977, but it was during my studies at the Hamburg university that I discovered my passion for wine! Once I left university I began to work as assistent manager in one of Hamburg's most renowned wine boutiques to understand more about its appeal.
A few years later I took some time off to travel throughout Italy. I immediately fell in love with this incredible country - and its outstanding wines, of course!
After two years of travelling around and working in various places I finally decided to settle south of Florence – at the gates of the Chianti Classico. Since then I worked in some tuscan wineries and wine stores. As a sommelier of the esteemed AIS association it's always a great pleasure to me to introduce wine lovers to the fantastic panorama of authentic tuscan wines! I'd like to share my knowledge and experience with people from all over the globe!
See you soon...
